Don Posted March 7, 2014 Share Posted March 7, 2014 I was under the impression that if it was a major upgrade it would be called s4, or am I mistaken or was it a slip of the keyboard by Dan? I'd be surprised, and a little disappointed, if they had already started figuring out what version number it will be. Seems like more of a marketing thing at this point. I would hope that actually writing/testing the software was more important to them right now. I don't think the 3 refers to a release/version number, but rather an acronym for Showtime Software Suite. If they do call it S4, then you'd see the version number of the software be 4.x.x, which would be inline with how they've named the software versions since the beginning. bobschm Posted March 7, 2014 Share Posted March 7, 2014 I doubt you'll see tiny m6 pixels soon. Smart ones need a chip somewhere to control them. And making the actual lenses small would require smaller LEDs, which would not be as bright. Shrinkage at the same brightness will require some new technology, I suspect.
