plasmadrive
When a triac turns on the current rise time (time from 0v to some voltage value) is very fast. In the order of .000003 seconds. What that does is cause interference in the electrical system feeding the triacs... Some times it is worse then other times. Lot of variables. You can get a line filter and put it in front of the controller and that should help if it bothers you a lot.. but to jdr004, it is not a safety issue per se for your place. It should not hurt any of your electronics.... At least I have never heard of it doing so.
jdr004
Plasma - thanks for that info. This is all new and I appreciate everyone who took the time to try and trouble shoot and educate me on this matter. Looking forward to many more LOR holidays.
