do the four wires (red, black, black, and blue) pictured go to bare ends? or to a waterproof connector? maybe post a picture of end of the colored wires on the strip, and of the 4 pin connector. Ray has several flavors of connectors. I know of at least 2 types of black and 1 type of white..

to determine which pin is what color on the connectors you may need to pick up a continuity tester or an ohm meter.

Thanks for the help... The 1 black (ground) and 1 red (+12v) are gust bare wires. The other black (ground) and blue (data) have a small black connector. I take it the bare wires are for power.???

correct, the bare wires are for power. You will be able to connect those directly to the E682 connector (the circuit board is labeled to show you which is which. Power and ground are on the outside edges of the Green pixel connectors on the E682.

You will then need connect the blue wire to the Data line on the E682. You can use the waterproof connectors that Ray sent you also, but maybe start without them to keep things simple.

So the wiring will be:

Red to +V

Blue to Data

Black to GND

Thanks...... My E682 should be here by the end of next week. I'll be sure to check everything twice before adding power. If I've read right there are 4 universes for 1 controller.? Does each universe require a separate Ethernet connection.?

Only one ethernet connection required per E682.

The E682 now supports 6 universes. There are 16 pixel connectors on the E682, you assign the connectors to a universe using the web interface. If you haven't already , download the E681 manual and read it over several times. There is also a 1 or 2 page update to explain new features of the 682 over the 681.

I was going to try and get a head start on sequencing. How would I add the E632 to the sequence editor. I'll be using 5 x 2811 strips running off the E632.

What would you guys recommend for a power supply if I'm only running 5 full strips.?

I received my E632 controller. I was able to get to the configuration page after setting my computers IP address and gateway ect. I think my gateway keeps changing because I cannot access the web page after it closes the first time.?? Should I force an IP address on the E632 using the DCHP.?? If I do....how do you setup a static IP address.??

I tried to use the test patterns while on the web browser and can't get any pixels to light. The chip was changed to Ws2811 and saved but still no lights.?? I should be able to test my lights from the web browser by enabling the test patterns.?

I have 2 x12v 5amp power supplies and WS2811 5m pixel strips. The jumpers are set to 1,2,3,4

I will try to access the web browser again and post a picture of the settings

If someone is willing to help me step by step that would be awesome. I know nothing about setting IP address.

Make sure after you make any change you type "SAVE 0" to save the update. You will see a warning down by the command line letting you know that you have unsaved changes also.

Here is the configuration screen shot.............I have pixel power select jumpers on 1,2,3,4.....should they be on 2,3??? It says in the inst. for +5v pixels should be jumped 2,3.. Im running +12v pixels strips with WS2811 chip

Looks good. Yes 1-2 and 3-4

Is that chip 4? "16716" I don't have mine up in front of me but I know it didn't say WS2811

Also you will have the same issues that started my other thread so type in...."strings 1 1" then type "Save 0"

Got it working....it was a loose euro connection and I had to use chip 3.. I've put a DMX universe into my sequence editor with all 512 channels . I see that it doesn't come up like a CCR... Do you have to change over all the channels to RGB...????

Thanks so much for the help... So how do you add a RGB DMX universe to your sequence editor.? When I added 1 universe of 512 channels it doesn't give you the option of RGB. All I can get is white. Do I convert each channel to RGB.?

I have 1 strip running great using the first channel on the first cluster running in the sequence editor. Where would I add a second strip to the E682.? Would that be in the second cluster or second channel in the first cluster.? I have 170 RGB channels converted from the DMX universe 1.... I can't seem to get the second strip working.

I set the configuration of the E632 to....cluster 1 strings 1 and cluster 2 strings 1 for the testing and worked great. Should it be changed back to..... Cluster 1 strings 3...... Cluster 2 strings 3. I'm tring to get 3x 5m WS2811 strips connected to the 632 and only the first channel works.

In the instructions for the E682 it says... If using 50 pixel strings, suggested arrangement is to use 3 strings per cluster, and start each clusters DMX address with the channel 1. This will use 450 DMX addresses of each universe.

Would this be the configuration I need if only hooking up 3 x 5m strips.

With the cluster 1 strings 1 set on the E682 I can only get 1 strip to work in cluster 1 channel 1.???

After many hours of reading and help from several of you guys, I have the E632 running smoothly. The one problem I found was the loose connection of the Euro connectors to the board. I found that the smallest movement of the Euro connector the LEDs would go out.

Thanks for the help everyone...

One comment on heystew's diagram. According to Jim @ SanDevice, his E682 will allow you to daisy chain several E682s, no need for switch/hub to connect several E682s. May need a switch/hub for other connections.

I can't say I have tested that I am waiting on my first E682 from SanDevice.

Hi Guys,

Can a mp3 Show Director be added to this diagram and if run in dmx can other E131 controlers be run after ELOR like the ECG-P12R?

Cheers
