TJ Hvasta
Hmmm, George, I didn't think of cutting/using a shorter extension cord for the dangles.. I just cut off the male plug and wire fm quick-disconnects to plug into the board, on the end of 6' 3-outlet extensions so I can have 12' reach from the controller box.. A real octopus, just makes it a bit ungainly to move.
TJ Hvasta
which brings up.. Where do you get your fm spade lugs to make your dangle sets? Frys Electronics charges $12.xx for a box of 25, as there's 36 needed that's 2boxes.. pricey..anyone have a place to get them cheaper?
George Simmons
I get mine either at Menards or Ace Hardware for about 9 bucks per box of 100.

I just checked the link and did a price low to high, cheapest extension cords I can find at Lowes are $1.14 each. No sign of a 77 cent cord in sight that I could find. mschell
Price went back up to the > $1 a few months ago. It was either a promo, or a way to get you in the store to sell you something else...

Then add (maybe) and maybe not Canada Custom duty tax and that's about $20.00.........so now I am up to $83.07. Then the dollar difference. So now I am looking at around $90.00............... but even if Canada Custom drops the tax which they do most times, then I am still looking at around $70.00.So for $64.00 I might as well buy them here.Funny how that works. TJ Hvasta
getting them thru LOR is they already have the spade lugs on them.. no add'tnl purchase.. but...After I broke open my Summer Sale order and checked the contents.. I went onto http://www.yourbroadbandstore.com/category.php?cat=E and ordered 5 CG-1000 (http://www.yourbroadbandstore.com/product.php?pid=201838) enclosures (for four 16kPC kits and one 16DC-QC board), $6.92/ea$50 shipped...then to http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10228 for dangles ... skip down to the SECOND section, for 1'-10' extensions.. the first section is for PC computer cables, they have the wrong female plug (small slots for PC power supply plugs).. I almost ordered 64 of those!!!I ordered sixty-four, 2' extensions http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10228&cs_id=1022802&p_id=5297&seq=1&format=2 for .92/ea and $7 shipping to AZ. I would've liked 14ga but 16ga for the short run is fine.. $66.52 shipped.Cost savings..LOR: $30 for sixteen 18ga, 18" long + shipping,Mono's: $20 for sixteen 16ga, 24" long + shipping.I already had a box of 100 .250" spade connectors for making up the dangles but adding that in adds abt $11($9+$2) to the total. TJ Hvasta
Sah-weeet, UPS man brought my Monoprice cable order while I was out on my last trip.. Opened the box, (heavy), just opened one of the packages, stretched it out, cut off the male plug, stripped off a couple inches of jacket.. looks just like LOR's dongle set.. For 1.16/ea, I could've gone for the 3' long version, but these (.92/ea) should be fine..
carsonpassey
Just a thought, if you don't mind a two prong instead of a three prong. I get white ext cords about 6' from Walmart. I use a black sharpe to mark the channels on the side of the white plug so I can quickly see what channel they are. They are $1.44 each....many places carry them. KarlSmith
I have been buying from Monoprice for years. The low price and high quality of their HDMI cables are incredible. They even have HD upgrade cables for the Wii.

carsonpassey
Nice link!! In a fix, one can usually purchase the light blue connectors from Wally world two. They are about 2 bucks for 15, and made by 3M. I think I have carpol tunnel from the strain of the crimping.....is that called Christmas Tunnel?
