Ineedmorelights
I think this is all around one of the best displays I have ever seen. I think you did a great job! I am looking forward to 2012's display!

Brian W
Fantastic!I showed your video to my family and they loved the "wiggly" trees. Can you describe those a little more?In addition, it appears that some of your lights are directly on the ground. Have you had any issues with rain or snow or are those sealed strings?BW
heystew
Brian,Thanks for the comments.. glad you and your family enjoyed it!The "wiggly trees" are basically a scaled down weber tree. They are 8' tall with 8 strings of lights wrapped in a spiral pattern. Below are quick instructions I gave to the folks who helped me wrap them. Each of the 8 strings was on a separate channel. The frame for the trees is simply an 8' piece of black pipe with flanges at the top and bottom. The verticals of the tree were made with some light guage wire rope. The trees that changed color were the same design, except that they used RGB pixel strings (similar to the cosmic color bulbs). As for lights on the ground, this was our first year doing it. Didn't have any issues, but it was a milder/dryer than normal winter. Nothing special, just the same LED strings we use elsewhere.Hope that helps!Dave Attached files
