Calling All Radio Signs

I did 2 candy cane poles, and attached my sign to them. Both the globe and the sign light up. I have one for the Left and right side so both sides of traffic can tune to the channel before they get to the display.

Here's my sign:

Real estate holder, white corrugated insert and 3" letters/numbers (all from Lowes).

Outlined with one string of minis and attached reflective markers on the side. Also using a flood light to help illuminate.

Here's where it sits.

Here's the close up. It turned out well. I actually have 2 of them but only one is hanging . They used to sit right on the ground last year but this year I hung it so it would be easier to see.

I also agree. no matter how big the sign is or how bright it is, people still don't understand that the music is broadcast over the FM station. That's why I call my station... WLLR Leechburg Lights Radio.

Mine is an LED scolling message sign that I picked up off eBay a couple of years ago. The display is 10" x 36".
I can adjust fonts and sizes so that I can run one line or up to 3 lines on it at a time in various formats and styles of scrolling, wiping, etc.
I use it more for a countdown to the day of show starting and for posting my frequency and the hours that the show runs.
I made a "hand made" frequency sign to mount above it as I shut it off while the show is running and also people seemt to be too impatient to wait for the frequency info to scroll through.
The case it is in is just 1x6 pine with a sheet of plexiglass set in a channel in the front and plywood in the back. One end of the case will unscrew and come off so I can take the unit and/or the plexi out to clean them.
It has worked great for the last 2 years so far!

My sign is large (8 feet by 3 feet) because it has to be seen from 200 feet away. It also changes between 2 messages - using 3 channels of LOR. It was built using the old light panels and minis. The alternating messages make it very hard to miss - even at 200 feet.

Here is the "Tune" message:

Here is my sign. Its a piece of lightbox film that cost $50 at Staples, Sandwiched between two pieces of thin pieces of lexan. Then it sits in a piece of U channeled aluminum. And picture frame springs hold it in place. I got 6 18" long florescent lights from a garage sale that I took apart, and placed inside. I started with 6 bulbs. BUT, it make it too hard to see the film, it was so bright, you could see it from China! So now I just use 2!

Here is it lit up

I wanted it to be portable. So I made the box, with one foot long L brackets bent into U shape. And bolted to the back of the lightbox. I screwed a handle to the top so I can carry it. And it sits on a sawhorse.

This picture was taken before completion. The blue tape was just so I could take the picture.

Were do you get that background from? I see at least 3 different people who have the same background on theirs. My wife likes that.
