Frank A.
I just purchased those adapters. I plan on using them after the IDMX 1000.The I understand your question, your plan is to not utilize an IDMX. I will investigatebypassing my IDMX utilizing the adapters and let you know. It might be a couple ofweeks before I get to that particular test.Maybe someone else has used dmx protocol talking to the LOR controllers and alsoto dmx specific equipment. My biggest problem is documentation for individual lights, dimmers, etc. is on thepoor side. Setting up the IDMX was an easy process. I also created an excelspreadsheet to keep track of all addresses, both LOR and DMX.If you are interested I can provide it to you. Thanks for your timeFrank A.

-klb-
Given that you show an iDMX, I take it you plan on using the LOR software? If so, you need your RS-485 converter to go to your LOR controllers and the IDMX. Then from the iDMX, you run cables to the Lynx Express boxes. I can't speak to if those adapters you link to use the same DMX on RJ-45 pinout as the Lynx boxes or not. Also, note that with the iDMX, you can only use LOR effects of dimming, shimmer, and twinkle on a total of 64 downstream channels at once. You can have more channels with these effects not on the same iDMX, or at different times on the same iDMX.

schristi69
Your diagram is totally confusing to me. North garage shows 4 RJ jacks. Is this 2 on the controller and 2 on the iDMX? I would group the connectors with the device. label them in and out and get rid of the connecting lines to the controller. Gets confusing as to what is a cable and what is a connection to the board. What is the use of the jumper and how are they connected to the boards?

schristi69
AHHHHHHH You are using external RJ45 connections hence the extra cables to the controllers.
