-klb-
Have all the windows updates been applied to the system? My wife has 2.3.4 on her laptop with Vista. I'm pretty sure she has all the windows updates installed. I have not tried the 2.3.6 installer on hers to date...You might start by verifying that all the windows updates are up to date on the system. bob
Hmmm... perhaps try Windows Update to make sure that all of your Windows components are up to date?
Steve Saunders
There seems to be a few things that prevent MDAC2.6 sp3 from installing.1. The requirement that the Windows OS be validated.2. A higher version of MDAC already installed on the machine.3. MDAC2.6 already installed on the machine.Just some things to consider:D
caswell
Is the latest version of S2 a full install or upgrade?cause this machine has never had lor on it before andi was just thinking maybe i need to install an earlier version!
cmoore60
Versions 2.3.4 and 2.3.6 are full install versions. They should load on machines that have never had LOR on it before.Chuck

jpohio
My (older) laptop had a major breakdown... the screen went dead! It still works just fine connected to a external monitor, but not going to work for running my show. After some investigating, I found out that it would cost me more to fix then it would to buy a new laptop. Buying a new laptop was not what I wanted to do... but, I did anyway.I've had this (new) laptop for just over a week now. I want to get the latest LOR software installed, but I am running into similar problems as mentioned above.Right now, the only lor software I've been able to get installed & work, is version 1.5.0 , so I will be watching this thread for any fixes. bob
Very strange... we have installed it on Vista without issue. You're sure you're completely up to date with respect to Windows Update? Sometimes you have to do it multiple times - for example, it might tell you "three updates available", but immediately after you install those three updates, it might tell you "five updates available". I guess that this is because those five depend upon those three, or something like that. Personally, I just keep telling it to check for updates, and install them, over and over, until it explicitly says that no more updates are available. Thanks.Bob,Initially I thought I had to have LOR software already installed on my pc before I could upgrade. As it turns out, that was the problem. So I uninstalled all of the lor software, then downloaded the latest version and installed it... worked liked a charm!JeffEdit:This was in regards to my new laptop. I didn't have any issues getting the latest version of LOR on my old laptop.
