Kyle
This year I installed a "Whole House" FM transmitter. I find that the sound quality is poor (sounds kind-a- like an AM station). Anyone got a good idea for a better sound system.

I did many years ago. What a waste of money. Just do a search in the search box at the top of the screen. You are going to find more threads with information about transmitters than you have time to read. Lots of good choices out there, but of course, more money!Oh and by the way. You are near my home town, so hello from California.
Dad02
Ramsey FM25B works well for me and sounds great. It took about 10 hours to solder the kit together.
bisquit476
Another option, somewhere in another thread someone else talked about this transmitter, but I can't find the thread right now.http://www.mobileblackbox.com/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/
seamanrob
I know you guys in the US like to do things "BIGGGGGGG" but do you really need a ... broadcast radius!!! I guess if youre the only house in the desert then it has an advantage.Over here, things are distinctly smaller. But so too is the price tag. I purchased this 50mW FM transmitter kit for £30 - about $55 - which came complete with power supply and prebuilt (I couldnt be bothered with the soldering iron). If you dont mind soldering - and obviously if you dont bother with the UK PSU, then its cheaper still. Its got a range of 300 metres - which is more than enough for my local street, and i find its got a good sound on it.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=370115517435RegardsRob

George Simmons
Kyle,Count me among those who got a whole house model, listened to it for about five minutes and decided I needed something better. I then got an EDM LCD model and I swear by it. Assuming good quality recordings to begin with, it sounds almost as good as commercial stations.George Simmons
