Tonymu1
I do not know what I am missing but here is my situation. I am running S6 v6.2.10 Pro from a PC. I have a USB-RS485 from the PC running a number of CMB24D and CTB16PC controllers and a GB ethernet card out to a hub and then to a PixieLink. Last year was my first year with the PixieLink. The Pixcons on the hub have no issues and the Pixie16's each on a separate PixieLink port have no issues. This year I changed out some CCP's for Pixie8s with new 100 pixel WS2811 strings. When I had the CCP's daisy chained on a PixieLink port I had no issues. My issue is that when I connect a cat6 cable to the second jack of the first Pixie8 (Pixie8 ID01) from the PxieLink it turns off any lights playing on the first Pixie8 (Pixie8 ID01) and the status LED begins to flash. Sometimes instead of blanking out all the pixels, they will either all turn white or just flash multi colors irradicably. The second Pixie8 (Pixie8 ID09) will light up and play the sequence correctly. If I reverse the cables and connect Pixie8 ID09 directly to the PixieLink it will light up and play the sequence correctly. If I connect a cat6 cable to the second jack of Pixie8 ID09 it will immediately go dark and the status light will begin to flash but Pixie8 ID01 will light up and play the sequence correctly. I can run either Pixie8 from the PixieLink and have a sequence playing and plug in a long cat6 cable with nothing plugged into the other end of the cable and the Pixie8 will go dark and the status light begin to flash. If I plug in a 1 or 2 foot cat6 patch nothing happens and the pixie8 continues to play the sequence. There are no jumpers on the board. I can run a cat6 cable directly from the USB-RS482 on the computer to the Pixie8 ID01 with the cat6 cable in the second jack to the Pixie8 ID09 and the Hardware utility sees both controllers and allows me to test all the channels on both controllers. I have scoured the forums and the manuals and cannot for the life of me figure out what I am missing. Last year I had a similar issue in the backyard trying to run two Pixie16's on one PixieLink port. When I daisy chained and connected the second Pixie16, both controllers would wig out. They were close enough to the PixieLink to just run another cable and put the second Pixie16 on a different PixieLink port. But I never figured that one out either. In the front yard where the Pixie8's are located I need to have them daisy chained. The first Pixie8 is set to ID 01, the second Pixie8 is set to ID 09. They are set at 100 pixels. On Port 5 of the PixieLink it is set to PixieLink with 100 pixels. They all seem correct and everything works perfectly until I plug something into the second Jack. I would appreciate any help. Please let me know if I am just missing something or if you need more info. Thanks Tony
Tonymu1
Does anyone else have issues daisy chaining pixie controllers to the PixieLink? Or do you do something special to be able to daisy chain pixie controllers to the PixieLink? I would appreciate any insight anyone has. Thanks Tony
