Dr_Aplet
Has anyone used the Gilber engineering permanent lighting? I am looking for affordable, programmable and reliable outdoor RGBs for my eves. I would like to add lighting that can stay out side and take the 100+ degree summer and freezing winter (Not super bad here in northern California). I came across these from GE and wondered if any one has used them. https://gilbertengineeringusa.com/products/g-track-permanent-holiday-lighting?variant=39635251036262
Fireman1571
Following …. Would also be interested in hearing about other permanent, low profile, lighting options
Dr_Aplet
Does anyone have recommendations for permanent fasha lighting? I would like to get something that i can just leave up that would go below my gutters and on my varge rafters to follow the outline of my house. I believe the Ducks has a year round landscape setup. That was Jim @k6ccc Mine comes and goes (I do have white floods when I fly my flags, but wind is not kind some seasons.)
TheDucks
I am not sure that the temp range is an issue. Most are Operating. On the Hot days, the lights are OFF until it cools down when they would normally be on. SUN (not heat) is my problem. Keep in mind, ease of service. Smart RGB can / will get a bad node (chip) that fails to pass the bucket to the next node, leaving the rest dark. You either need convenient access to work in place (cut and splice) or a way to pull the faulty length and bench repair/replace. I made some firesticks out of 1/2" PVC. 2" spaced bullets https://drive.google.com/file/d/1yuxhGZe9GPRZ_fZJxG_DOOHRdiOeJB-C/view?usp=drive_link (I drilled a 8mm hole all the way thru, then enlarged one to 12mm) I grabbed one and tucked it (the wire side)in between the gutter and facia as a test https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z6nsy-cUqoS-5j5zA171HXA02S0PLR_l/view?usp=drive_link (For the photo, I just jammed the wire side into the gap. The piece was 3', 16 nodes. it stayed without help 😛from tape of grey ) There is not much room IN the PVC for wires (I was thinking PI will be needed). How many feet are you thinking? What spacing? k6ccc
Yes, I have year round landscape lighting, but nothing on the eves. Most of it is dumb RGB.
