Color switching

I am configuring my new pixie 8 and am having issues with the color order staying stable. This is my 15th pixie unit so I believe I'm setting it up correctly. In the hardware utility/pixel console, when I select "controller blue on" the pixels turn blue for a split second and then turn red and stay that way. This only happens on the "blue" on button. I changed the color order several times to see if that would help and it didn't. Now matter what order I select, the "Controller Blue On" selection does the same thing except it starts and ends with different colors. One other symptom, if I select one pixel group at a time, it doesn't switch to red until I select the last pixel group. Same when using different pixel strings. Any ideas on what would cause that?
