Prop tips/suggestions

Hello all,

I am wondering if some of you would be willing to share some of your tips on setting up the following props:

1) RGB gutter lights- Do you use bullet or flat node pixels?  How do you attach them to the gutters and keep a straight line without seeing the lights sag?  For my old C9 LEDs, I used the plastic clips you could buy at the local store, which worked great, but they don't seem they will work with the RGB pixels.

2) I want to setup 3, maybe 4, RGB candy canes ( or any prop where I would have multiple in close proximity).  I was thinking of stringing the pixels from one cane to another and the few pixels in between would be sacrificed and not used.  Or I can buy short strings for each one, but still I would waste pixels on each cane.  The other thought is cut the pixel string and use the remaining pixels on the next string, but I feel that is too many splices that could lead to issues at some point.  Any thoughts? I would think by stringing cane to cane, without exceeding the maximum pixels per port, would be the most efficient.

Thanks,

Joe

I use bullets on Plastic plumbers tape. I drill a 12mm hole on 3" centers,

I use multi mode gutter/shingle clips about every 3rd node https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bYCzzHCoagQuKogYbaNFs7u-B2pzE4Mf/view?usp=sharing

You can see them on the Gable  behind my tree pole https://drive.google.com/file/d/1kqnQcsmjKtM7bzBWuO2TChzlGVbI4dAT/view?usp=sharing

Although the photo below is not on a gutter, I did exactly the same thing on my gutters.  The wood strip is a standard 1x2 and the plastic clips that mount the two lights comes with the GE Color Effects bulbs.  I rebuilt those this year with new pixels and mounting.  I need to take photos...

This is good information as I used to use gutter clips as well but this year I added Leaf Filter covers to my gutters and now there is no ledge to clip anything to.  I'm hesitant to use clips on the shingles as I don't want to modify their adhesion to the roof and possibly create a leak.

I did not clip onto the gutter.  On the fascia board I screwed eye bolts into the wood, and use hooks on the 1x2 strips.  On the gutters, I drilled a hole near the top of the gutter and put eye bolts that have nuts on either side of the front face of the gutter.  This photo shows a strip hanging from the eye bolt in the fascia board.

I went to a local holiday shop and found these gutter clips that have little clips to hold the strings for mini lights plus all kinds of other ways to hang lights. The thing that was cool to learn, the little clips for the mini strings fit the hole of the Boscoyo Chromatrim strips. So I can simply hook my pixel strips to the gutter hooks and they are ofter enough to keep it all perfectly straight.
