Donl1150
I have a Boscoyo singing bulb that has the typical 8 individual string face movements. On the mid lip with 22 pixels, there is one that stays lit with faint blue continually, even when the computer is disconnected. Whenever there is power to the pixie8, the one bulb is dimly lit. Is it a bad pixel that I can just cut out and replace or could it be something else?
k6ccc
That is a not overly unusual pixel failure mode. Yes, you can cut it out and solder in a replacement. Make sure you get the wiring correct.
Donl1150
Thx Jim. Kind of what I thought but I am new to pixels this season.
Orville
I'd also suggest either a can of liquid flex seal, or flex seal tape and cover the newly inserted pixel wires to make them more waterproof and weatherproof. That is, after you've used heat shrink tubing over your connections first, then use the flex seal product of choice to keep rain and other condensation out of there. I use both, and both work very well for this, although the liquid can get a bit messy!
