94-302-vert
I just finished and tested my first 16 channel PC board. 15/16 channels worked. So I re-touched all of the joints to re-flow them and channel 3 is still not working.I do not do electronics so what do I need to try and Ohm or Volt out? Thanks,Chris
cmoore60
How is Channel 3 not working? Not turning on? Not turning all the way off?Is the Opto in correctly? The opto is the 6 pin chip near the triac.Chuck
94-302-vert
I used the hardware utility and turned on all channels. Then checked with a set of lights. the lights did not turn on at all for that channel.I visually looked at all joints (opto, resistors, triac). I can see solder flow onto all of the pins and the boards. This opto is not 100% seated but I do have visual flow onto the pins and board. What can I ohm or volt out? I may just have a bad opto??Thanks,Chris
LightORamaDan
Reflow the solder on R15 and U4 as well as the triac, resistor and opto on channel 3.
94-302-vert
I tried this yesterday. Today I will try adding a touch more solder to each joint when I re-flow it.On a good note my 2nd board worked perfect (put it together last night).
