Two controllers, same ID?

Can I assign the same ID number to two LOR units? I have two large arches a long distance apart, but like them to run identically. Or do I have to give them different ID numbers, add the new channels to each sequence and copy/paste?

You probably could, but it might be better to copy/paste the arch channels in your sequence and assign them to another control. I haven't tried it, but I am going to bet that when you run the hardware utility or try to do other troubleshooting, it isn't going to allow you to test the controllers individually if they have the same ID.

At some point in time you might want to have the arches do something other than be in sync, so you might as well make separate channels for them now.

This question was asked a couple months ago and I believe that Dan said you can do this without problem.

We've done it and it works. But like Richard said I would avoid trying to do anything with the hardware utility (load firmware, set/clear standalone status) while the IDs are the same.
