Networking oc controllers from the Director

I'm wondering if I can install a network switch between the Director and the first controller.  My purpose is to be able to run 2 different directions from the Director and thus creating 2 daisy chains.

Unless you are running E1.31, then you need to stay away from 'traditional' networking devices.

If you don't know what E1.31 is, then you aren't running it. From a mini-director to a controller, you'd probably want to have a Network Repeater (See LOR Site, under adapters) in the mix so you can split the chain.

As Don said, LOR networks are NOT Ethernet and can not be used with Ethernet devices.  In fact, plugging one into the other CAN result in leaking the magic smoke out - happened to a forum user over the weekend (killed the network adapter built into his laptop).
