Box not working ... need troubleshooting ideas

Hello All.  2018 is going to be the year all our LOR boxes stop working lol  Already replaced the ports on 2 boxes and now Box 1 in our show stopped working.

So box #1 is not working, no channels but boxes 2,3,4 that are all connected through box 1 work.

My husband checked and there is power coming in, fuses are good.  But the green light is not on (not blinking, not solid, just off).

Any suggestions on what may be wrong and can  we fix or are we looking at a new box?

Thanks you for your help!

That acts like no power to the controller.  As you just found out, data can pass through a dead controller.

With power removed, CAREFULLY visually examine the controller for any obvious damage (burn marks, burned PC board traces, damaged components).

Note that if it is a failed controller, LOR's warranty is quite good, and the are amazingly fast considering how busy they are this time of year.

Carefully examin thos RJ45's.  A couple of pins have auxillary power on them for accessories at the end of the cable. It is possible that thos might drag down the low voltage power.

Also, unplug both CAT5 cables to see if the LED comes on. the issue might be a bad or crossed pair on those power pins.

So we looked at the Rj45 Jack's, tried unplugging the cables, no light.  He looked around the board and said this was the only stress he sees.  It doesnt look super bad, but you can see where the top two are a little brown on the side vs everything else is white.

What would we let LOR know?

Those are the Opto idolators in the OUTPUT. Dark might be a warning of other issues. I guess they could drag things down...but

No light: look at the transformer, the 120-240 jumpers Both need to be there). All the board power is to the sides and above that transformer..

The chips near the RJ45s are the RS485 drivers.

That big one is the brains

If the fuses check,  and the jumpers are fine, time to open a trouble ticket

Thank you for the help.  Opened a ticket this morning.  My husband checked the jumpers and transformer and said they looked good.  He said based on everything he checked he has no idea why it's not working as everything seems fine and is getting power when he measures it.

Will see what LOR says to do.
