Spiral tree - light string placement?

Thanks for the kind feedback. =)

 

I do have a question about a star topper.  I did not build this spiral tree with a center pole since it's only 6.5 feet tall, so I don't know how to mount the star on top of the tree.

If you didn't glue the top yet, could do it like I did...

& if you have already glued, just drill a hole through two of the elbows, opposite each other, between the legs. Then drill two end mounting holes and a center star mount hole through a scrap flat piece of sturdy metal.  Or shallow strut like I've pictured. Run some long bolts through to hold it altogether.

Be careful since you already have lights on!
