I was just trying to install LOR on my surface pro 3 and I can't seem to get the USB 485 dongle to show as a COM port.

I have loaded the driver from the LOR site.

I am running windows 8.1 on my surface.

Any help would be great aThanks,

Lee

Does the Surface have an ARM processor? Would you need an ARM compiled version of the LOR software to work?

I had access to one a couple years ago, but couldn't get it to work.

I use the Surface Pro 4 with the I7 proc and have no issues with it and the USB dongle.

Running Windows 10 on it.

Did you install the USB driver without the dongle being hooked up? After the reboot hook up the dongle. If so that should do it.

The OP has a Surface Pro.

This has an i5 or i7 CPU and runs full blown Windows.

I have a Surface Pro and it works fine.

I did have a problem once. It just stopped seeing it al together, although it had been working before.

I downloaded the latest version of the drivers and it worked again.

I am now able to see the 485 and get a com port issued.

I unistalled the LOR software and driver then did reboot and reinstalled and rebooted then connected the USB cable then turned on the Listener. No errors!!

Thanks for the assist.
