Beat Wizard Tutorial

Mike and Patti,

Perhaps I could have been a bit more clear. Sorry. When you use the beat wizard (from the Tools menu) you have the option of the beat wizard placing timing marks according to the beat it has identified. (You also have the option of having timing marks placed at intervals either faster or slower than the actual beat. Keep in mind that these options affect the entire song or whatever range of time you have selected.)

Lets assume you've already run the beat wizard and have timing marks for the actual beat. From there, just select a cell (or a range of cells in any row) and right click. Scroll down the choices until you get to "subdivide timing" and click that. You'll then see a dialog box asking how many cells you want to divide each selected cell into. Whatever number you choose, the subdividing will occur in every channel in that track.

NOTE: It can look pretty confusing if you use the beat wizard after having already set the timing at .05 or something, so my advice is to not use any timings when you create the musical sequence in the first place if you're intending to use the beat wizard. Either that or remove the timings first before using the beat wizard.

Hope this helps.
