PE bar effect

Is there a setting to control the number of bars in the PE bar effect?

 

I have a 48 strand tree, that i was trying to use the bar effect, to start a color at the bottom & fill to the top once. The plan was to adjust the speed to the time i need to fill. When i use the bar effect it divides my tree into 3 sections. i choose colors red & black. When the effect starts, the red is at the bottom and top as in the picture. Is there a way to accomplish this with this or any other effect ?

In the effects generator the first option in the bars effect is palette repeat, you can select as many as 5 bars using this slider. To get the effect you want you can try the garland and set it to once to fit duration.

There are several options to try:

• As SPaschall suggested - garland effect set to "once to fit duration"
• Bar effect, with only red selected (no black), direction=up, and "Show 3D" checked
• Curtain effect, with only red selected, curtain edge=top, movement=close, repeat="once fit to duration"
