The rules were only broken for one game and 3 other teams were caught for it as well. What espn and the news chooses to report isn't always fact lol. But honestly the offense is no worse then too much pine tar on your bat or using a little something to grip the ball in baseball (widely done and it ok as long as you don't make it obvious enough that the opposing manager has to call it or look like an idiot lol), Or a goalie pumping up his pads too much or a hockey player curving his stick. Now the problem for the NFL is they have no proof those balls were checked and at spec before the game started. Of course the ref is going to say he checked them. I've been watching the patriots since 1993-94 back when belicheck was the defensive Coodinator and I've never seen him come out in a press conference like he did last Saturday and talk to the media the way he did.
