Pixel Failures and Proper Voltage..

I was following a post from last November and since I am about to enter the world of pixels this year for the first time  I want to be sure I take heed and listen to those before me ....

I purchased WS2811 IP68 Square Pixels  (50cnt,18awg.12v)

I got them  from DIY LED Express this year....Do I need to throttle down the Voltage to 8V on these as I see some are doing? I want to ge that straight before I even power them up....

Thanks

Eddie, no. What you read was a problem with one particular 2811 pixel from Ray Wu. Running them at 12V should be fine.

Fwiw, I went with diylightanimation and RJ' smart strings design because he designed safety and power injection into everything. His list of approved rgb items from Ray makes sue you don't shoot yourself in the foot by accident.
