rocket col
Looking for some advice here, been looking to get some of these for some time CMB-16D-QC DELUXE http://store.lightorama.com/cmdedcca2.htmlBut still out of stock, as assured they would have some in Feb Then March Then April, now into may.I want to know if i could use the CMB24D instead? if so how would i wire in individual channels as it looks like its set up for RGB LED's (V+ R G on each connector, that would be ok for a strip but just want to drive either a dumb led strip or power an EL wireWant to do pumpkin faces this year.ThanksColin (UK England)
worksopian
Colin, from the page you link to:The CMB16D-QC is exactly the same as the CMB16D: Same power capacity, same firmware, etc. The only difference is that the screw terminals are replaced with quick connect terminals. Connections are the same for both boards, with the CMB24D you would need quick connect connectors some thing like these:http://www.delcity.net/store/Push!on-Terminals/p_801898.r_IS1012?mkwid=sCKH1PGZY&crid=14112240389&mp_kw=quick%20connect%20terminals&mp_mt=p&gclid=CKzr8PCmnL4CFU8Q7AodeikAKQ
sax
You can use the new dc board for normal dc. It is shared + is all. You get more channels on the new board (cmb24d). So for channel one it would be the red and the + of the first channel on the board. Channel 2 is g and +. Channel 3 is b and +. Channel 4 is the r and + of the next channel on the board. All the way up to 24 channels. Hope that makes some sense. The older board is only 16 channels. I use my board for RGB and regular dc work at the same time during Halloween. So it is versatile.
