aemnky
Mike, If its a version 1 board you can update to 4.32 if its a V2 board you can update to 4.40. If you hook it up with the LOR dongle and open Hardware and click find controllers it will tell you in the controller type box.

ehgilman
So in my Hardware window, it says 16pc-g3ver 1.06. It is safe for me to update the frimware to 4.40? And what are the changes in the firmware?

Don't even try to load 4.40. That's a G2 and older firmware version. The most current firmware version for G3 16PC controllers if 1.07. http://www1.lightorama.com/firmware-updates/

When I purchased it, I was under the impresion that it was a Gen3.... that is odd.
LightsinMaine
If it has a green status light it's Gen3, red status light is Gen2

G3 = Gen3 = Generation 3 = Green LED = data pins left of RJ45 jacks. If the HWU is coming up with "16pc-g3ver 1.06" then you have a G3 board.
