Waveform visualization not created

I have done a few sequences with song files that I have edited Nero's Wav editor. Sometimes it's to chop a verse out of a long song, sometimes to add a silent stretch to the end of the audio for punctuation such as a lighting sweep or allow that long, thoughtful fade.

The sequence editor on 1.6.1 will not generate the waveform track for song files that I have thus modified. Am I using the wrong tool for editing the audio?

The code that does the wave form does understand most files but the Wave File generated by Nero may have some unsupported compression in it ( some wave files do have compression)... You may try taking the file and re-encoding it using Audacity. (open it in audacity then save it as a WAV).. See if that helps.
