lights question

not sure if this is the correct place but here it goes anyway,  I bought a bunch of led strings just find out they are 110v with a control box that makes them do different stuff.

 

is there anyway to get rid of the box completely and use a LOR RGB controller 12v to control these lights. 

 

I tried cutting the wires and plugging them into my 12 power supply I have but noting came on.

 

any ideas.
