Ken Benedict
Only use one of the LOR adapters for the LOR network and forget using the second one for DMX; you will have problems and regret it. Don't plug the second adapter into your computer. Only the first one. Follow the advice in the manual on the installation and it should work OK. If not, please report back with more details or screen shots and the helpful people on the forum can get you up and running.

mmais68569
If I was you I would use your crossover cable out of your 485 & run complete show with DMX. Mike

LOR Staff
Only use one of the LOR adapters for the LOR network and forget using the second one for DMX; you will have problems and regret it. Our USB RS485 adapters should run DMX without an issue. Please see the complete list of DMX adapters we support here:http://www.lightorama.com/help/the_dmx_tab.htm (near the bottom) If you are experiencing any issues with a DMX adapter on that list, (including the +1 issue which I think was resolved last year), please open a trouble ticket and we will get things working for you. maxall777
ok thanks ,I have a 2009 and a 2011 USB adapter your saying both of these should work for a DMX network.
Steven
If I was you I would use your crossover cable out of your 485 & run complete show with DMX. LOR controllers are optimized to work best on an LOR network. When in LOR mode, fades are smoother, twinkle is more consistent, and shimmer is faster and less jumpy than when used in DMX mode. Joe2000
If this helps anyone that may have similar issues. Using windows XP I could not get any adapter to show in DMX, I use a Lynx adapter, after hours of trouble shooting I finally went back to the following site http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm Looking under comments. I downloaded this file: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20830_Setup.exe it cleaned up my machine and re-installed my usb drivers now I get all adapters showing in DMX like it should. Hope that helps anyone looking for configuring those adapters. Joe
