Denny Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I am finally getting around to assembling my CTB16PC boards. I figured that I had better get started if I want to use them this Christmas. The circuit board shows a + sign adjacent to the location of the ceramic capacitor, C1. Does this + apply to the ceramic capacitor? If so, how do you tell which terminal is positive on the ceramic capacitor?
DavBro Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 There is also one next to C4. Ceramic caps are non-polar (at least these ones are). Install them in any direction. I am assuming these are filter caps between Ground and V+ on the chips they are located next to, so the '+' sign would indicate V+ for the chip.DavBro
Denny Posted September 22, 2007 Author Posted September 22, 2007 Thanks, I didn't think the polarity mattered, but it just confused me when I saw that + so close to the capacitor.
