PatDelaney
Using a DMX console (hardware), I am able to contol the intelligent 5050 smd 2801 pixels via the DD-100 dmx decoder. So I'm pretty sure my wiring is ok.The hardware controller has 16 on/off switches (DMX 1-16)Turn on sw 1 -results red LED comes on in pixel 1(as expected)Turn on sw 2 -results green LED comes on in pixel 1 (as expected)Turn on sw 3 -results blue LED comes on in pixel 1 (as expected)and so on, so I know I havew communication. If I swap the hardware controller with Open DMX USB and XLights nothing seems to happen.By default the strip shoud go to black if it senses a DMX signal. But that doesn't happen. If I remote the DD-100 decoder and the 5050 pixel strip with a 3 channel dmx module and an simple RGB strp the stip goes dark and connected, and when I start xlights I can control the RGB strip.Note that the DD-100 I has is actuall mislabeled as DDP-100 but RAY WU swears its correct and It does work with hardwareWhat am I missing?here are my notes:Intelligent Pixel Strips: (5 Volts) DMX1 = Blue, DMX2 = Green, DMX3 = Red 3 Ch. per Pixel x 32 pixels = 96 DMX Channels Pixel Strip (5 volt LED’s) DDP-100 2801 512 DMX Decoder Notes: Red +5 volts ----- For both decoders if no DMX is present Blue CK CLK Red The strips will slowly fade between colors Green SD LT Blue Yellow gnd ----- Block Diagram of DDP-100 (12 volts) Black (gnd) DDP-100 Black (gnd) not used Red (+5 volts) Blue (LT) goes to SD on LED Strip Yellow DMX IN + Green (DATA) not used White DMX IN - Red (CLK) goes to CK on LED Strip Green DMX OUT + Gray DMX OUT -
