rick gorman
Nice job. Now I may have to get more ideas and include something like it. Are the pumpkins the ones from a craft store that you can carve?
NWSanta
Yes, we got the pumpkins from a local "Michael's" Store. They are just the plastic thin walled ones. Then we just carved the face on the front.CheersEvan
Obewan
Really great stuff! My complements to you both. I've been thinking about expanding into Halloween, now I have something to shoot for.
rockyct
Nice job. I started out doing mostly Halloween but got burnt out from doing so much work for only one night a year, so I phased into Christmas. Videos like this make me want to get back into Halloween in a couple years.
bauera2
I made the mistake of showing my wife your videos, now I am doing a Halloween display. She would like to have a few pumpkins similure to yours, what did you use to light them?
MattCole
Is there any chance of you sharing the lor sequencing and other related files? Want to try and get the same type of thing going but running out of time to sequence both halloween and christmas this year.... Darn this new hobby.... Maybe post to LORsequences.com or email?Matt

It was my Wife that took on the sequencing herself and timing all of the songs. Got to love it when she shares in the uses of LOR.Anyways. I used 1 Single C9 bulb in each of the bigger pumpkins. and 2 C7's in the smaller ones...-Evan
smjosephrn
I hope you and your wife don't mind but I'm going to blantantly copy you! This looks great! And It's easy. I was trying to figure out exactly what I was going to do for this halloween. I wanted to break in my LOR and needed something simple to do! Thanks! Except...I've got fog machines. With 10 pumpkins, that leaves me with 6 channels. I've got a couple of strobes light I though I'd try as lightning.Thank your wife for the inspiration! smjosephrn
NINtender,How does your fog machines work with the LOR? How many do you use? I was thinking of a cemetary area of around 15x15 ft. Would one large fogger cover this area? Or should I plan on two.
NINtender
I don't acutally have them hooked up to the lightorama. Because of the way they generate fog, they always have an intermittent down time to regeneratedBut....The machines game with a simple push switch, but I found timers at a Party plus last year. They let you set the interval and duration of the fox, which allowed me to keep fog in the yard continually. There is another trick for good fog ... a fog chiller. The first year, I made a container, put a "chamber" that ran through the middle, filled it with ice and blew the fox through. But it was extremely bulky, and I'm limited for storage.Last year, I took a shoe box (Wife changes my daughters shoes like I change pants) cut 3 inch holes on both sides, then went to the market and bought dry ice. Break it up and put it in the shoe box, and the fog looks dense and more importantly, stays on ground, literally falling down any slopes.I bought those medium size foggers last year at Walmart. They worked great. I think they were like $25 a piece. don't spend a lot, they all work the same. My first fogger was like $100 from a prophouse (no demand for them back then) and it lasted only a couple of years.I looked at walmart's site, and I see they now bundle them with strobes and the timer switch. this it the size of mine. With a chiller, this one would create plenty of fog for that area. Just so you know, My grave yard is about the same size, and two produce more than enough. But...can you really have too much fog on the ground?
smjosephrn
Thanks, I saw the one you mention at Wal-mart. I'll have go by and pick one up.
NWSanta
Check out my Wife's site for the Fog Chiller.http://boosandghouls.active.wsWe took an old cooler cut 2 holes in it used some chicken wire through the middle and pipe the fog through there. It works quite well actually.I've got the LOR driving the Fog machine this year. Haven't had time to fully test it but, the electrics is done. I modified the switch with a relay and a 12 V Power supply. LOR Applies power to the 12 v source which turns the relay on and closes the switch to the fog machine.I figure I'll sequence it with .30 seconds of ontime then let it regen for 2 min or something like that. Can't remember what the charge on the fog machine is...Also plan on taking a couple of strobes and sequencing them alittle late together to try and get the lightenin effect.Stay tuned.-evan
smjosephrn
I like that idea. Since I have never seen the fog machines at work, I didn't know that they had the problem of rising. Low lying is what I want. I think I have an old Ice Chest laying around too! I just need to come up with a good idea for camoflaging it and I am set. NINtender
I like the relay switch idea. Give's me ideas.....Here's a link to a variety of methods using a chesthttp://wolfstone.halloweenhost.com/Fog/fogchl_FogChiller69.html#DeathLord1997I've anchored the link to what my original chiller looked like, as described by NWSanta. Whichever way you go, it's all about the chill. If you can afford it, use dry ice in there.
