I think it could save me a lot of cable by using this where my system goes two different directions. steve synek Posted November 17, 2012 Share Posted November 17, 2012 I not exactly sure of your question, but I think you're asking if can you leave a 4 pair connector on one end and convert the other end. So if you are I don't know that answer. I'm sure if you just cut off both ends of a cat5 and add the cat3 in the same pattern on both ends, it will work and you don't have to worry about which pairs to discard.Steve Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
