Cat 5 connector to cat 3 connector with cat 5 cable

Has any one got an idea how to color code this combo? I think it could save me a lot of cable by using this where my system goes two different directions. Yes I know there is a repeater but is $90+ bucks and six weeks out.

I not exactly sure of your question, but I think you're asking if can you leave a 4 pair connector on one end and convert the other end. So if you are I don't know that answer. I'm sure if you just cut off both ends of a cat5 and add the cat3 in the same pattern on both ends, it will work and you don't have to worry about which pairs to discard.
