nmonkman
My old computer had a serial port that I was using, but the new one I have does not have a serial port. So I will need to get a USB to CAT5 adapter. Can anyone recommend one that is fairly reliable and/or works well with LOR.I bought one a long time ago and I think it is around somewhere, but it seems I remember it was a nightmare getting it to work. Thanks,
Don
I've heard good things about this one.
LOR Staff
I don't think you want a USB to CAT-5 adapter. What you want is a USB to RS485 adapter that has an RJ45 connector. We recommend this one :http://store.lightor...com/uscoad.htmlOr, if you are going to need to use some of our powered products downstream (like ELLs), this one:http://store.lightor...coadwivobo.html(ninjaed by Don!)

nmonkman
Yes, that is the correct terminology. I was hesitant to say "The little black thing-a-magiggy that goes in one of the square things and then hooks to that yellow cord that looks like a phone line but is supposed to be used for a cat named five.........." LOLActually forgot that LOR had one. I bought a cheapy which probably explains the nightmares

Santas Helper
Other brand USB stuff wont work with LOR. It has to be LOR for it to work right.
