DLTSLC
I have two DC controllers, one is gonna chill in the garage; the second isn't so lucky I'm trying to figure out a good way to mount the ever-popular 350watt power supply used for RGB dumb strips. Good news it'll be under the porch, but wind still pushes the snow everywhere so I gotta use an enclosure. Now for the question - How on earth do you people mount the power supply to the enclosure as the screw holes are on the bottom and sides of the power supply ? LightsinMaine
Most people will create a 1/8-1/4" thick sheet PVC backer the size of the box. Screw threw the PVC sheet into the back of power supply (or whatever). Then place power supply into box and screw through PVC sheet into box posts. Voila! DLTSLC
Sweet, that's a great idea!!! Just need to get a fan going for the heat buildup Anyone know if the 350watt power supply will only heat up to what it's powering or will it do the full capacity? More power = more heat
heystew
if you are using mean well power supplies, they make a bracket that goes on the side. http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_222182_-1or one that mounts the power supply on it's side: http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_222122_-
