I would say it would not work for 2 reasons. First, it is not on the approved DMX dongle list from LOR

plus this next part of the description:

The VM-USBDMX-01 is a USB to DMX control box that is designed for use with VenueMagic’s Show Control Software series

This tells me it is a customized box to work with VenueMagic.

Was hoping to get a "Enttec Like" Pro for $30.00 (after the gift cards I had)

you can use the LORUSB485 for pretty close to that price.
