CCR Twinkle Effect

RaceMedic

Recommended Posts

I am stumped but probably a simple answer.

I am trying to twinkle my CCR in 3 colors .. red green and white.

When I do the white twinkle it actually twinkles random colors.

What am I doing wrong ?!

nothing, twinkle flashes random channels across the controller so you will get many different colors. now shimmer on the other hand you can make green red blue and whatever other color you want

James ....

I can twinkle the other colors .. ie ... if I make it a red twinkle it will twinkle red only but the random color only occurs in in the white !!

ok so I was only half right, you can twinkle red green and blue,but if you mix colors you will get a random twinkle of different colors. I tried purple and it changed between blue red and purple

But u can't twinkle a white off and on !?

You can use Color Effect 7 to accomplish this.

straight from the ccr user guide

Color Effects
There are two ways to manipulate the colors and/or
intensities of the logical pixels. The most familiar
way is to set or fade the RGB channels. This
permits great control but can be tedious. The
second way is to use a Color Effect. When using a
color effect, the RGB channels should be off.
Setting the intensity of channel 155 to one of the
following values selects the color effect:
Twinkle Effects
1 – Twinkle red
2 – Twinkle green
3 – Twinkle blue

4 – Twinkle red + green
5 – Twinkle red + blue
6 – Twinkle green + blue
7 – Twinkle white
8 – Twinkle random (red, green, blue)
9 – Twinkle random (2 million colors)

never used this option but maybe now I will:)

Sorry ... clear as mud.

How do I set an intensity level on channel 155 ?!

I have been trying to figure this out but have not done this before !

In Sequence Editor, when you create a CCR (or CCP in my case), it will create the 50 RGB channels (that's 150 channels), and then the macro channels right after that. Therefore:
151 = LR = Logical Resolution
152 = MM = Macro Mode
153 = MS = Macro submode
154 = ME = Macro Efect
155 = CM = Color Mode
156 = CS = Color Speed
157 = CI = Color Intensity

You can set a intensity on the macro channels just as you would for anything "normal" channel.

Hope that helps

OK .... Now I am making myself look stupid.

So to get the macro effect I thought I had set channel 155 to an intensity setting and the lines filled in like any other channel. The rest of the Channels 1 - 150 are off !?

Nothing happens when I run the song !

What am I doing wrong ?!

Sorry ... just don't understand this and no samples shown in the user guide !

When you use a color effect (channel 155), you also have to set the color effect speed (channel 156) and the color effect intensity (channel 157). All other channels should be off (unless you are also overlaying a macro effect).

To get the brightest twinkle, set channel 157 (color effect intensity) to 100%. Experiment with different values for color effect speed (channel 156). I don't remember what intensity will get you the same speed as a regular controller's twinkle. I would start with channel 156 at 50% and adjust from there.
