Probably a silly question. If I have an IDmx1000 do I need a brain?

Hi Fellas:

So I'm using CTB controllers for LED/incandescent displays. Am rather unclear on the DMX thing. If I have an iDMX1000 on a controller and I want to run some Rainbow floods do I need a brain? Looking at the diagram on their website, there are RGB floods or spots attached both to the iDMX in addition to the brain. I'm missing something I'm sure?

Thanks in advance..... HNY!!!

IDMX sends the dmx signal, the brain deciphers it for the rainbow floods.
So yes, you do need a brain as well as a power source for the floods.
There are no silly or dumb questions.

You won't believe the doozies I can come up with. This DMX stuff is like learning to speak Latin for gosh sakes. Thanks for your help.

I'm assuming the assembled brain does not come in an enclosure? What's everyone doing for a box or an enclosure?

Thanks again ....

It took me a year to finally understand it (DMX) myself. Getting your hands on it helps a lot more than reading about it.
As far as enclosures for the brain I am not sure. I don't have any. He may possibly have ideas or enclosures on his site?

Yeah. I wonder if the enclosure for the 16 channel LOR controller will fit it. Will call him tomorrow. Didn't see any enclosures on the Rainbow site.

Thanks for the help, Scott. Appreciate it. Have a good night.
