older LOR controllers and DMX

I thought I remember reading or seeing this info but can't remember when or where

Will the older LOR boards (PC Series, DC Board, ctb 16D prior to gen 3 accept the DMX protocol? If so will it require a firmware update? Also If a LOR controller is able to become a DMX controller, how is it addressed? Can you run a LOR protocal and DMX protocol on different ports?

After going over this DMX/RGB thing for the last 2 weeks with all the info I can't recall where or if this info actually exists.
