Al Dube Posted December 27, 2011 Share Posted December 27, 2011 Ok, As an older guy who is quite familiar with programming DMX, I am confused as to how S3 works to control DMX, is it direct control of the Fixture, do we still need an adapter like an iDMX1000 or can I connect my Fixtures to the network without an adapter..Somebody please "splain" it to me !! -klb- Posted December 27, 2011 Share Posted December 27, 2011 For each DMX universe, you need a USB to DMX adapter on the show PC. You no longer need an iDMX unless you are using a MP3 director, or mini director.The Enttec open, or enttec pro will give you XLR connectors directly, or the LOR USB adapters can be used as DMX adapters as well, but you will need suitable custom pinout adapters.
