mrduncan
I am currently running my Christmas show on a XP machine. Every time I reboot the computer, it does not recognize the USB485B. I have to unplug and plug back in before it recognizes it again. Any advice on how to fix this problem.

-klb-
If you are not using the FTDIChip specific drivers for the com port you will have issues. If you plugged in your adapter, before installing the FTDI drivers you will most likely have the wrong drivers installed. You should probably start with using the control panel to remove the existing drivers for the USB-485 com port, and unplug the hardware. You will want to download and run the following:http://www.lightorama.com/downloads/FTClean.zipThis will clean up various driver install related leftovers. The current correct driver install package is here:http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20814_Setup.exeRun this, then plug in the com port.
