gayler
All other channels working properly. Is there anything that is common to just these three channels? Or is this more likely to be cold solder joints?
TJ Hvasta
My bet would be just cold joints.. the pads should look pretty shiny.. if they look dull, cloudy, brittle.. just hit each pad with the soldering pencil. Apply heat and let the solder re-flow.. you may need to add a little (abt pin-head amount) solder to get it to reflow.. biggest thing that causes cold-joints is just what it's name implies.. not really enough heat to get the solder to bond between metals.. 3-5 seconds should be as much as you should apply, but the finished joint should be shiny. gayler
I hit the jackpot! All sixteen working now. I only had to reflow them to get them to work. Now I have to figure out how to get a show programed.
TJ Hvasta
Good job, yep, cold joints are the most likely reason a channel wont work.. just reflow the solder, giving it just a few seconds more heat to make sure it melts and bonds correctly.
patrickj
I'm having the same thing.. fortunately only w/ channel 7. Did you reflow everything? Or just the triac.
