Does anyone have any experience with the wireless DMX units by Chauvet or Elation? Any other brands you've had success with?

They will work but expensive. There are much cheaper DIY methods. Many here use a blend of LOR/DIY products. In my case, I use Do It Yourself Lightanimation (DIYLA) Lynx products in my LOR network for wireless DMX. RJ over there has some awesome wireless stuff at a fraction of what Chauvet or Elation will cost you.

I have seen some on aliexpress - they come from china, quality is questionable, but price is good.

If you only need a short distance, the cheaper stuff could be ok

I have acually ordered some of his stuff. (not wireless dmx) the items were lower quality, but did work.

The next release of S3 is said to support dmx-over-ethernet
If / when that happens, you could use standard wifi access points (have no idea what to expect with latency and timing) If that does come out, you would just need something to go from ethernet to dmx at the other end. http://www.j1sys.com/ethcongateway/ although I dont see the item in his store anymore, not sure if he still makes it.
