flood not responding

Hooked up my idmx-1000, found it in the hardware utility, plugged in my dmx flood on the dmx out side. I set my fixtures dip switches 1 & 10 (booklet says "when 1, 10 are on and 2,3,4,5,6,7,8,& 9 are off, the light will accept dmx signal"). Opened console in the HWU set my controller type, unit id, and channel mode. Can not get light to come on. Suggestions please. Thanks a million.

Let me add that I do not have a terminator plug in. Maybe this is my problem.

To give an update. It was my old laptop causing the problem. Tried it on my wifes new laptop and my desk top and all is well. This is working out good for me because guess who is getting a new laptop! ME!!

What version of the OS was on the old Laptop? Just wondering because it would be great to get a new laptop but in general it should not have been the problem.

Hey Dan, that's what I thought also. Maybe there is something else I can try. Here are the specs:

Dell Inspiron 8100
Windows XP Pro Version 2002 service pack 3
Intel Pentium 111
Mobile CPU 1000mhz
996 mhz, 320 MB of Ram

Dan, don't know what I did differently this time compared to the first time, but I tried it again and it worked fine.
