NWSanta Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Ok Guys so I've been doing some reading and though I'm still scratching my head on how to do the DMX Programming in the software i was trying to get a handle on the layout. I did up this real rough diagram to see if I was on the right track...Does this seem correct.???I'll elaborate on this as time goes on here and in this thread but, for now I just wanted to make sure I was on the right track?CheersEvan Attached files
Frank A. LightORamaDan Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Frank,Excellent description of how to use the iDMX. One small recommendation. For those just starting, they will want to use non-legacy addresses for the iDMX. Thus in the example if the iDMX had a unit ID of 11 then the DMX devices would have had base IDs of 11.01 and 11.49 which is less confusing than the Legacy Mode addressing scheme in the diagram.Dan
Frank A. Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Good morning Danthanks for the responseI agree ---- native mode addressing is the way to go ----I am set up using Legacy mode ---- have not decided tochange to native with our setup because of the labelingand documentation for our setup would have to be redoneprobably a good project for summer of 2011.By any chance did you download either spreadsheet and try itcurious about your thoughts about how useful a tool they arefrank A.
