ItsMeBobO Posted March 20, 2010 Posted March 20, 2010 This years SLAM will be a little different and even better than last year. We plan to extend the mini into the evening hours to see the lights in darkness. We will have CCR arches setup, a major Mega tree, and snowfall tubes. There are more demos, more doorprize drawings, and more fun planned. Will be held at a family farm with plenty of space.http://itsmebob.com/SLAM/ Please visit our site and register if you would like to attend.

LORisAwesome Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I'll be there Saturday, and I'm looking forward to meeing some other folks from the area. The forcast for Saturday is for rain. I plan to bring my ez-up canopy for shelter from the rain, and sunblock in case it is sunny. The photos show a large open field. Is there any kind of shelter on the site?Jerry
Cray Augsburg Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 LORisAwesome wrote: The photos show a large open field. Is there any kind of shelter on the site?Good question, Jerry. Surely there's a barn or starge structure. The wife and I'll be there, too. We'll be pulling our Jayco fifth-wheel to the KOA down the road, and we'll have a first-up canopy with us, too. Certainly plan to bring an umbrella or two.And . . . funeral beans and banana puddin' for the pot-luck.See ya there.Cray
ItsMeBobO Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 LORisAwesome wrote:The photos show a large open field. Is there any kind of shelter on the site?Sure ! There is a huge log cabin with 3 bed and 3 bath. A large great room plus there is a large covered patio/porch.We will be able to manage if there is a rain. Here is an overhead of the SLAM site. The log cabin is top center and the field shot is taken from there. The white building in the center is a former airplane hangar.
LORisAwesome Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Thats great! Still hoping for a nice day, but not worried about the weather anymore.See you all on Saturday!Jerry
Cray Augsburg Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Thanks to Bob, Mira, Chuck and all the others. This was my first opportunity to meet with a group of Christmas lighting enthusiasts. I learned quite a bit, and I was able to see things in person that I was otherwise only able to read about. The farm was beautiful, the food was great and the camraderie was just what I needed. I look forward to attending again, as well as attending other similar functions.CrayP.S. i hope the beans didn't cause too great a disturbance during the night!
LORisAwesome Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Yes, thanks to Bob for hosting SLAM, and thanks to Chuck, Mira, and Bob for organizing the event! It was nice to meet and talk with other lighting enthusiasts. I hope to see you all again!I enjoyed the MIIP presentation, and it was nice to see the CCR for the first time.Jerry
