gerald sundberg
I think my E machine has quit on me. So I'm wondering what I should get. There a lot of them on E-Bay really reasonable. I would only be using it for the light show and not connected to the internet. Any ideas?
iresq
Since LOR is very easy on resources, I would say don't go overboard with ram, hard drive space, etc.XP or win 7. Bypass Vista if you can.
Dave Batzdorf
Dell has some great refurb deals with full warranties. You can spec out what ever your wallet will support.http://www.dell.com/us/en/dfh/desktops/ct.aspx?refid=desktops&s=dfh&cs=
cenote
I would get a Lap top, much easier to hook up and take out in your front yard to modified sequences while watching the lights. And you can always hook up another monitor if the screen is too small.
gerald sundberg
A very good friend came over this afternoon and we checked out the show computer. It seems to be the audio board that is causing the trouble. It will play an animation sequence with no music just fine, but try to play one with music and it just locks up. I think I'll be checking in with a repair shop. There seem to be a lot of refurbished ones on E-bay maybe that's the way to go. Thanks much guys. Your friend in Christ Jerry
