JeffF
Had a little snow storm move through the area last night while I was putting up a 35' long, 22' wide, 12' high arch. I was able to get the clear lights on the arch before the snow really started to come down and I'm hopeful to get the gold and red on after work tonight... although the snow has already starting to come down. -Jeff

mwilliams
I think your house looks great! And how'd you get that snow to fall just right? It's the perfect complement to your lights. All we get is the rain here in Hotlanta. But your house truly looks fantastic.
tsarlitto
My question is how did you make that star on your house? or did you buy that? looking for something similarTomA Newbie
mwilliams
There are now a couple of ways to make that star. One is to go by Richard Holdman's design on his website:http://www.holdman.com/christmas/star/The other is to purchase a wireframe from http://www.christmas-leds.com/They now sell a wireframe copy of that very star, and it's actually called the Holdman Star. JeffF
Thanks for the kind words. My son and I made the star last year using information from Richard Holdman's site and the Do-It-Yourself-Christmas forums here:http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4056It's 6'2" with 187 C7 bulbs. But if you go the wire frame route, don't worry about buying from Christams-LEDs.com because Valerie only puts out top-notch frames. We've bought a few from her and have been very happy with them.As far as capturing the snow and the house both *almost* in focus... it's called "shoot a million shots and hope for the best". Seriously... that was the best picture out of about 75-80. I'm sure there's probably an easier way but that's how I did it.

George Simmons
Hey Jeff, nice job. The snow falling on cue is nice icing on the cake. I won't get to take a look at your video until after tonight's show ends, but are your snowflake squiggles 16 channel devices?
JeffF
The left two take up 14 channels each and the right one takes 16 channels(5 or 6 channels are blocked by the wifey's car in the video though).I went the cheap route on those controllers and the arch controllers since I knew I was only going 100 lights per channel for those.-Jeff
