redsea300
I was thinking of getting 1 or two. What is everyone using and is it just plug into a channel and program the channel on?

bhays
I have three Animated Lighting snow machines (I think they are rebranded Chauvet but seem quite a bit bigger than the 150X). At any rate, they are dmx with the idmx1000.

Frank A.
Good eveninga good many folks on here use dmx protocolthe idmx from LOR has a learning curve but is notextremely difficult gives great flexibility to the type oflighting devices you can utilize in a showany dmx capable device is going to be more expensivethan on off devicessnow machine with dmx control will allow the volume ofsnow made to be controlled by sequencesdo a little research on dmx equipmentaddressing is different but no more complex than LORFrank A. iresq
Programming is pretty easy. The price of entry to the world of DMX is $260.http://store.lightorama.com/smdmxin.htmlI am sure you could hack the wired remote to work with LOR, probably via a relay. mill4011
the iDMX1000, I couldn't find installation / setup instructions online looking at it on LOR's product site. How does it interface into the rest of the equation. I know there's the serial USB converter which hooks up to CAT5 for the LOR controllers. How does the iDMX "get plugged in" to the network. I saw the face has the XLR connections. Does the back have CAT5 that you run wire from a LOR controller into it. If I can just get a link to a manual and I can read through it that would be awesome. I'm liking the idea of DMX and the possibilities it opens.
