Albert -

There a couple of things that you can do that come to mind immediately, but the cleanest would be to right click on each channel that you don't want any more, and then click delete channel on the drop down list. *POOF* It's gone.

Just deleting channels might not give you the effect you really want.

You've got to look at what the events are in the channels and decide if you want them in your sequence.

Going from 48 channels down to 16 could be tough, but is certainly doable. Pick the things that highlight the big moments in a song and ditch things you don't have like chasing mini-trees or leaping arches.

Definitely get used to using the keyboard commands in the sequence editor to speed things up. Lots and lots of copy and pasting...

Look for items that match up with your house like roofline lights or windows. Maybe santas and snowmen and use those channels. Also look for effects on channels you wont be using but might look good with what you have and cut and paste them where you want them.

To delete a channel you just right click over on the channel description and choose delete.
